Service Provider Accreditation

Continuing Professional Development (referred to as CPD), refers to continuing education and training. CPD also refers to the systematic maintenance, improvement and broadening of knowledge and skills and the development of the necessary personal qualities for the execution of professional duties throughout a person’s career. It is the learning and development that takes place after completion of educational studies and by which registered persons maintain and develop competencies to continue to perform their roles efficiently though further training and experience.

The Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA), enables Recognised Voluntary Associations, such as SAAMA, to verify CPD Service Providers and validate CPD Activities, which include training, workshops and seminars, related to Physical Asset Management.

SAAMA therefore continually evaluates applications made by Service Providers and has a defined application and evaluation process for this purpose.

The application normally constitutes the Presenter’s Curriculum Vitae, a completed Application Form, the Intervention Brochure and proof of payment for the application fee. The application fee supports the income of SAAMA as a Voluntary Association, especially in these challenging times.

Members are requested to be aware of this function and motivate potential Service Providers to make use of this SAAMA service, to bolster our activities, recognition and the association’s income.
