SANS ISO 55001 accreditation scheme

LAUNCH of the SANAS ISO 55001 Accreditation Scheme at the June SAAMA Virtual Conference

SANAS announced the launch of the ISO55001 Asset Management System Accreditation scheme, which enables local certification bodies to assess local organisations for compliance to the ISO55001 standard.  This completes a journey started a few years back that called on participation from a number of industry role players.

The presentations at the SAAMA virtual conference provide a solid understanding of the SANAS processes and will be published along with the other presentations on the SAAMA website.

SAAMA will continue to report on the accreditation scheme and will provide routine updates that will allow for asset-intensive organisations to remain informed on the developments.

SANS 55 000 Series

The ISO 55000 family is the first set of International Standards for Asset Management and is emerging from the success of the BSI/IAM Publicly Available Specification PAS 55.

“These three international standards (55000/1/2) are important not only for their content but because they represent a global consensus on what asset management is and what it can do to increase value generated by all organisations – at a time when everyone needs to make the most of any resources they have.”
